We set sail for Traben-Trarbach this morning, arriving around lunchtime. At the turn of the twentieth century, the town of Traben-Trarbach found itself at the heart of the world wine trade. This small city was once the Moselle Valley’s only town, and it was also one of the world’s most important producers of wine in the early 1900s. As the demand for wine cellars increased, the town came up with a genius solution – building huge cellars underneath the town.
On our optional excursion, you can head below the streets for a subterranean experience. You’ll venture down into one of the vaults for a guided tour and, of course, a glass of wine! We set sail this evening for Beilstein.
