Why not join our optional guided tour to introduce you to the sights of the Old Town, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site?

Today, we visit Auschwitz, the most notorious and deadly of the concentration camps in German-occupied Poland. We will learn more about the tragic history at the site from 1940 to liberation.
Auschwitz is the largest of the Nazi concentration camps, and is preserved so that mankind never forgets the atrocities committed here. This remains a hugely emotional experience.
Join our optional excursion to the town of Wieliczka and the oldest salt mine in Europe. The mines are an impressive underground world of salt lakes and galleries. They are a masterpiece of generations of miners who have created a subterraneous world of chambers and lakes, where galleries, halls, chapels and numerous sculptures have been carved in the salt rock.
The journey starts at the Danilowicz Shaft where we meet our guide, and then descend via some 380 steps to 64 metres below ground. Our guide takes us on a fascinating journey through the magnificent chambers, revealing the history and the secrets of the mine.
At the end of our visit we return to the surface by the miners lift.

The detail often makes or breaks a holiday. For instance, it would have helped to have known that Poland does not welcome Euros, they inevitably prefer and want Zloty's. I presumed that being in the EU, the Euro would be a common currency - it wasn't! It would have helped to have known that whilst travelling through Germany, that public toilets need a 1 Euro coin to get in. It would have helped to have had more ongoing information from the Drivers throughout the journey, instead of having to ask for it! And why situate the hotel 2 hours away from Krakow, when every excursion involved having to get to Krackow first? I would hesitate to give the hotel 3 stars - it was pleasant, but the 24 hour bar, was a fridge behind reception, breakfast was superb, but dinner very poor in quality. Staff though were very friendly and helpful Happy to answer any questions!

It was a long way on the coach BUT coach very comfortable, great drivers, Jordan and Carlos. Trips included and extra ones were fabulous. Hotel was lovely and clean, my room was really nice with a balcony, I'm a solo traveller. Only negative was dinner was too early, and no polish cuisine on the menu. Generally a really good holiday

The whole point of the holiday was to visit Auschwitz and that was a huge disappointment thanks to your drivers, and the attitude of the guide at Auschwitz! I have written you a letter and will be posting it today. I expect a response! A lot of us were disappointed.
