Food and Drink

Escudella

The national dish of Andorra, escudella, is served in nearly every restaurant in the country. Translating to ‘bowl’, this big stew-soup is hearty and rich; made up of meat – typically sausage, chicken, veal – and seasonal vegetables with a bone marrow broth.

Caragols a la llauna

Caragols a la llauna is a dish of snails, cooked in a tin pan in the oven, served with olive oil and alioli. Like in many other areas of the world, snails are beloved in Andorra and are considered a delicacy!

Embotits

Eaten year round in many different dishes, embotits refers to cured meats – Andorran sausages, black puddings and hams. Popular varieties include butifarra blanca, la bringuera and the dry cured meat, fuet.
